Hip: across the widest part, then double it.
Length: from the top of the waistband to the hem.
Leg opening: across the hem.

The pants are warm and comfortable. The size is accurate and the fabric is very elastic, which enhances the fit. I had ordered khaki, but a dark color that's hard to describe between brown and green arrived. Oh well. The finish is nice, the only flaw is the shallow back pockets that make it easy for a wallet to fall out.
